post waltzing matilda affair

Happy Aussie Day to anyone who gives a hoot about Aussieland. It is amazing how patriotic Aussies can get. It's rather contagious and we, migrants find ourselves joining in the 'rut.'

I had to work though. I was expecting an in and out day, but, alas, it was ever so busy, perhaps the busiest I've been after that whole truckload of new korean files came in. I've had some ups and downs, cranky moments included but really I'm never gonna kill someone over that job.

I clocked out 6-ish and had three people waiting for me downstairs.

I love Aussie Day fireworks. Aussie day has always brought me some sort of drama. I don't quite know what this year is gonna be about. I'm holding my breath. Hopefully I find out soon, lest I turn blue.

optimistically picking up the pieces

Kat's gone on hols. She's my work buddy. That just means work's gone one notch more boring. Halfway through the week, with Thursday being Aussie Day. I have to go to work though, hopefully just have to be there a couple of hours and then do whatever. The shops might not be open though.

The shops. I just went and had a bit of a look around when I managed to snuck out for that one hour break. Saw some good buys but maybe ain't a good idea to be making purchases. It just really dawned on me that I really need to budget.

Started gym last night. I'm still sore. Only did a bit over 30 minutes' worth. Tomorrow's gonna be another attempt. I can just sit in some bike machine and pedal away while my mind flies of to some lala land.

the end of another so-called era

Na and Joy are back. Rosa's friend, Jenny, flew off this arvo and Rosa heads back to HK tomorrow night. Everyone seems to be transitting. Life feels like an interchange of sorts. Kat flies off sometime during the coming week, Amy in about 2-3 more weeks and perhaps before I know it, everyone would have come back.

Another one bites the dust.

It was a window waiting to be broken. I thought I saw it, but then maybe I was paranoid, maybe I was hallucinating but alas, I'm not as crazy as I thought I was. Heaven knows I needed drama in my life. I won't say it's too much to bear. I had very minimal regrets, learned a fair bit about a certain breed of people and it's pretty clear now how I want my personal personal life to be like - free of illogical, nonsensical, narrow-minded species.

I know deep down I played my cards right. I could have done better but between right and wrong, it's crystal clear which is which. Another huge lesson.

Rosa's friend Jenny arrived from HK a few days ago so had a pretty big weekend with a Hunter Valley tour, trip to the Fish Market and an Open Air Cinema experience. All was good but it wore me out til Monday and then had issues which would stretch out til goodness knows when.

Nobody should cry over spilled milk. Even if it's your fault. In my story, it's not my fault. I don't think I'm biased because I was interested in finding out what I could have done better. Maybe I am slightly biased. Because I lean more towards where my trust lies.

New Year! New Revelations!

It was at least 40 degrees yesterday. It was scorching hot and the wind was just hot. It was like standing beside the end of a bus that's blowing hot air at ya. Horrible. Air-conditioned places are not even cool. Think those units are gonna conk out if the temperature keeps hitting the 40s. Worst weather ever in Sydney. Weird how the usually hot-in-summer Perth has about 23 degrees of coolness.

Started reading Revelations yday. I had to take a deep breath. Josc was just saying the book's too magical. I have to agree. I love the book but it just takes more effort to really get something out of it. Perhaps my subconscious IS getting fed nonetheless. I'd like to think of it that way.

Got a few trips and 'trips' lined up for this year. I'm broke as it is but wanna make the most out of the happs around town, e.g. the Sydney Festival. Check out www.sydneyfestival.com.au. I reckon it's one of the coolest sites.

Meant to go to a dance show called 'I Want To Dance Better At Parties' with friends but it's all booked out! Would have been cool! I still wanna check out the New Orleans Jazz stuff! Oh I want a full programme guide book now!

Parents heading home tomorrow. Really have to head to bed but can't sleep. Too hot.
